Sustainable Diets: Practical Insights for the UK. The what, why and how with Elphee Medici

August 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Virtual Event Virtual Event

The presentation will explore the various recommendations for sustainable eating in the context of UK public health, drawing on insights from leading international and national organisations and the scientific evidence underpinning them. Sustainable diets often raise concerns about nutritional adequacy, both in public and professional discourse. This webinar will investigate the validity of these concerns and demonstrate how to effectively dispel common myths that arise from misinterpreting science or theory outside the context of a healthy population. The ultimate aim is to equip the audience with the confidence to provide dietary advice that benefits both the planet and human health without compromise.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand the key dietary guidance for sustainable diets for the UK
  • To understand the meaning of ‘plant-based’ in context of sustainability
  • To understand the evidence underpinning sustainable diet recommendations
  • To understand how to debunk some common myths surrounding sustainable diets including nutritional adequacy
